Attorney Israel G. Perez III
Israel G. Perez III was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, to former migrant farm workers. After graduating high school in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Perez attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, where Jesuit values of being for and with others were deeply instilled in him.
Driven by a strong belief in decisive action as the noblest way to help others, Mr. Perez ran for a seat on San Antonio’s city council while still in school. Although he did not win, many of his ideas, such as a payday loan ordinance, gained favor and were eventually adopted into law.
At Baylor Law School, Mr. Perez was recognized for his dedication to public service. He interned for U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey C. Manske, gaining valuable insights into complex judicial decision-making. This experience helped him achieve the top grade in his Advanced Trial Advocacy class.
After graduating from Baylor Law School, Mr. Perez headed west to Odessa, Texas, where he managed an outpost law office with six employees. As a young trial attorney, he won victories against powerful insurance companies. His legal insight became well-known in the community, and he regularly provided guidance to listeners as a guest on a popular Odessa radio show.
In 2020, Mr. Perez participated in one of the country’s very first Zoom trials, securing a favorable outcome for his client. This case demonstrated his ability to adapt and master new technologies in a rapidly changing legal landscape brought about by the global pandemic.
Beyond his legal career, Mr. Perez is also passionate about teaching and community service. He has taught citizenship classes to refugees in both Fort Worth, Texas, and Midland, Texas. An avid pilot, Mr. Perez favors flying smaller, single-engine planes and can often be found at the local FBO when he’s not advocating for his clients.
