Israel G. Perez III was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, to former migrant farm workers. After graduating high school in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Perez attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, where Jesuit values of being for and with others were deeply instilled in him.
Driven by a strong belief in decisive action as the noblest way to help others, Mr. Perez ran for a seat on San Antonio’s city council while still in school. Although he did not win, many of his ideas, such as a payday loan ordinance, gained favor and were eventually adopted into law…

Mr. Sword is originally from the Rio Grande Valley. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University. After college, he graduated magna cum laude from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Aurora Montemayor, born in McAllen, Texas is the daughter of first generation immigrants from Reynosa, Tamaulipas. In the summer of 2019 she graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she obtained a Bachelor in Philosophy. Ms. Montemayor belongs to the American Association of Mexican Philosophers where she speaks about issues within the Mexican-American community and works with a team to solve said issues.
